Grant Lodge feasibility study focuses on an Arts Centre for Elgin
After the public consultation in Elgin library on 23rd September 2005, two clear favourites emerged as contenders for the future use of Grant Lodge; a combined centre for genealogical research, the registrars service and community use, and a centre for the visual arts. Given that the Moray Council are intending to establish a new "heritage centre" which combines the local archive with a facilty for genealogical research and a home for the registrars service, the spotlight is now focussed on the viability of accommodating an Arts Centre for Elgin within the restored Grant Lodge.

Discussions are currently underway with the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and HIE Moray and the development of indicative scheme drawings are at an advanced stage with the Elgin Arts Centre Trust as potential managers.
